Swansea City Football Club and Swansea University have announced an MSc programme in Advanced Sport Performance Science.

In this unique opportunity the successful candidate will work closely with Swansea City Football Club to support the sports science department under the supervision of the Head of Sports Science. This will include leading gym- and pitch- based physical sessions, leading the collection of physiological data, and the implementation of in-house research projects to support the study.

The project will include work in theories and practice of sport performance, as well as research methodologies, data analytics, reflective practice, and critical analysis skills in the sport and club.

The role entails assisting in the daily management of Sports Science and Strength & Conditioning delivery for players, ensuring that services operate at best-practice standards consistently. It will also involve supporting all Sports Science and S&C testing, data collection, and analysis efforts. Collaboration with the Head of Sports Science and Head of Strength & Conditioning will allow research into the design and implementation of athletic development programs.

Additionally, the research into contemporary areas of sport and exercise science will allow the determination of relevant applications, leveraging university research project assignments whenever feasible.
