Immersive Innovation at SUSIM

On 30 April 2025, our Simulation and Immersive Learning Centre (SUSIM) opened its doors to professionals, educators, and innovators for a dynamic, hands-on event showcasing the future of simulation technology. With a strong focus on how immersive tools are reshaping Education & Training, Health & Wellbeing, Athletic Performance, and Injury Prevention & Rehabilitation, attendees were shown how we are making groundbreaking developments.

The engaging workshops highlighted the possibilities that virtual and augmented reality, haptic feedback, and real-time data integration can offer across a range of industries.

Guests experienced fully interactive simulations that highlighted how real-world scenarios can be replicated with precision and responsiveness. From training environments for healthcare professionals to athlete performance monitoring systems, the demonstrations reflected a growing demand for immersive learning that bridges the gap between theory and practice.

For many attendees, the event sparked new perspectives and ideas. Among the positive feedback received, Councillor Sue Jones shared:

“It was a very interesting, mind-blowing experience. The application of simulation and immersion learning has no limits and is so exciting for the future in a wide variety of fields.

Beyond the interactive demonstrations, participants had the opportunity to engage with leading experts who are at the forefront of immersive simulation. These sessions provided valuable insights into how institutions, sports organisations, and healthcare providers are adopting these tools to improve outcomes and efficiency.

The event also created space for collaboration, bringing together like-minded individuals eager to explore how these technologies can be integrated into their own areas of work.

This event was a celebration of innovation and the direction education, health, and performance industries are heading in. With simulation and immersive learning continuing to evolve, we are committed to remaining at the heart of this transformation. Keep an eye out for future events at SUSIM!
