Case Study: Building a Community-Focused Osteopathy Practice

Nicole, the founder of Health 360, discovered osteopathy when accompanying her mother to an appointment for back pain. Intrigued by its holistic, non-invasive approach, she decided to pursue it as her lifelong career.

While passionate about osteopathy, Nicole faced the common challenge of turning her clinical skills into a sustainable business, starting with limited experience in entrepreneurship. During her final year at Swansea University, Nicole connected with the Enterprise team, who provided guidance, mentorship, and initial seed funding. Through these connections, she was introduced to Big Ideas Wales and Business Wales, which supported her in developing a comprehensive business plan and securing additional funding.

Nicole began by renting a small room and working part-time while completing her studies. Over time, she expanded to a full-time practice with her own premises. Health 360 now collaborates with other professionals, such as physiotherapists, and partners with local charities to provide free treatments for community members who cannot afford private care.

Since then, Health 360 has grown into a thriving, ethical practice that balances commercial success with community impact. Nicole’s journey demonstrates how mentorship, strategic support, and a clear vision can transform a passion into a sustainable, community-centered business.
