Case Study: Unlocking Creativity Through Lucid Dreaming

Laura, originally from Croatia, moved to the UK in 2015 to study and later pursued a PhD at Swansea University under a leading dream research scientist. Her work sits at the intersection of psychology and creative writing, focusing on how lucid dreaming (becoming aware of and influencing one’s dreams) can enhance creativity, idea generation, and problem-solving.

While Laura had a groundbreaking idea, she needed guidance, resources, and funding to transform her research insights into a viable business venture: Lucid Story. Through Swansea University’s Enterprise team, Laura accessed funding from the Big Pitch and Santander University funding. This support helped her with marketing, web design, and networking opportunities, including presenting her business at a major local business exposition. The Enterprise team provided mentorship to refine her idea and navigate the entrepreneurial process.

Laura successfully launched her business around lucid dreaming techniques for creativity enhancement. Her journey highlights the impact of combining academic research with practical entrepreneurship, and the role of mentorship and university support in turning innovative ideas into real-world solutions.
