The CIF facilitates clinical research in pharmaceuticals in oncology, clinical application of MRI and the development of imaging based clinical pathways.

Swansea Centre for Health Economics
SCHE works with Swansea Trials Unit to apply health economics methods to real-world health policy and care issues. The team conducts research to provide actionable insights for practitioners, policymakers and managers.
They offer support services at all stages, process evaluation, and analysis of routine data to assess the economic impact of interventions.
With expertise in large datasets, complex interventions, and public health, SCHE estimates resource needs and evaluates cost-effectiveness.

Swansea Trials Unit
STU is a UK Clinical Research Collaboration (UKCRC) registered clinical trials unit. The team has knowledge and expertise in the design and conduct of high quality, multicentre randomised trials and other research such as cohort studies, quasi-experimental research, qualitative research, surveys.

JCRF aims to increase and deliver clinical research studies within the health board by evaluating new medicines, procedures and devices.

Analytical Technology
Analytical Technology uses mass spectrometry to analyse confocal equipment and pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and manufacturing samples.

Funded by Welsh European Funding Office, HTC brought together partners from industry, academia, and the NHS together within the life sciences and healthcare settings. Its activities are now mainstreamed within NISH.

Health Data Science is a growing and multi-disciplinary field which focuses on collections of individuals and their biological, economic, social, and environmental experiences.

AWEN Institute
The Awen Institute brought together leading researchers with older people and the creative industries to co-produce products, services and environments for an aging population. Its activities are now mainstreamed within NISH.
