MyRounders<\/a><\/strong> is a social rounders league designed for people aged 16+ across Wales. They run mixed and women\u2019s leagues in Swansea and beyond, welcoming participants of all backgrounds, abilities and fitness levels. They strongly focus on enjoyment, connection and being active in a friendly, supportive environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The idea for MyRounders emerged from recognising a need for fun, low-pressure opportunities for adults to be active. Many people wanted to enjoy movement without the demands of competitive sport. Rounders, with its nostalgic appeal, simplicity and social nature, proved to be the perfect fit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since its launch in 2022, MyRounders has seen a remarkable impact. Participants report increased confidence, new friendships and a renewed enthusiasm for physical activity. For many, the experience goes beyond the game itself, and brings a sense of wellbeing, belonging and community connection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the main challenges MyRounders faces is shifting perceptions about sport. Many adults associate participation with competitiveness or past experiences at school, which can make re-engagement daunting. MyRounders works to challenge this mindset, demonstrating that sport can be relaxed, welcoming and inclusive. Encouraging people to take that first step is often the hardest part \u2014 but once they do, they quickly experience the positive, social atmosphere that defines every game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Membership of the National Institute for Sport & Health has played a valuable role in supporting MyRounders\u2019 mission. Through NISH, MyRounders has connected with like-minded partners who share a commitment to improving health and wellbeing through accessible movement. The network provides expert insight, opportunities for collaboration, and a supportive environment that encourages innovation and community growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NISH\u2019s focus on evidence-based practice and impact aligns closely with MyRounders\u2019 ambitions. The team is now exploring how collaboration with NISH can help measure and better understand the wellbeing outcomes of social sport \u2014 strengthening the MyRounders model and showcasing how simple, enjoyable activities can make a meaningful difference to community health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking ahead, MyRounders is eager to develop collaborative projects with other NISH members. Potential areas include community research, health and wellbeing initiatives, and joint events promoting inclusive activity. By sharing ideas and working together, they can expand access to social sport and help more people experience the benefits of movement across Wales and drive a collective progress towards a healthier, more active nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With over 370 teams now playing across 38 leagues in Wales, MyRounders has built a thriving community rooted in fun, friendship and inclusivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyone can take part \u2014 whether returning to the game after years away or trying it for the first time. Teams can register online<\/a>, while individuals can register to join<\/a> by being matched with local groups to help them get started. All the necessary equipment is provided, keeping everything simple, social and inclusive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
