Since 2010, SymlConnect has been based at Swansea University’s Singleton Campus, where the team developed a system for secure data exchange between different healthcare systems. This decision to base the company here was influenced by the support they received from the university and the Welsh Government.
SymlConnect’s first product for the primary care market streamlines patient data collection through digital means, whether in the clinic or from home. It seamlessly integrates with existing clinical systems, automating data entry and coding. The system provides insightful analytics for quick interpretation of patient responses and reporting on response levels and missing information. Key features include:

SymlConnect is focused on securing pilot programs in Welsh GP practices to implement remote monitoring systems in primary care. These systems will utilise AI-driven reporting features to identify and address ongoing patient needs by analysing existing data. By flagging at-risk patients, SymlConnect aims to support clinical teams in managing long-term chronic conditions and general monitoring more effectively.
Looking ahead, SymlConnect plans to expand into the secondary care market and develop additional independent digital healthcare systems.
